Military committee studies ways to lend support to citizens, residents.
Muscat: As part of the action plan of the National Committee for Emergency Management, the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF) Main Military Committee tasked with tackling emergency situations held a meeting on Sunday to study ways to lend support to citizens, residents and establishments amid developments of the tropical cyclone Shaheen.
Emphasis was laid on services to be rendered to affected areas as decided by the National Committee for Emergency Management.
In the meeting, held via videoconferencing, the chairman and members of the Main Military Committee listened to a briefing from sub-committees in the governorates of the Sultanate.
The briefing included the latest cyclone-related developments in the governorates, as well as ways to activate support plans, cooperation and coordination with government departments concerned.
