Muscat: If your vehicle was damaged during the cyclone and you want to claim insurance, here’s how to do it. The Capital Market Authority (CMA) issued a clarification on Tuesday.
CMA clarified that Comprehensive insurance policy covers damage to the vehicle as an essential feature. While third party insurance does not cover the damage unless it is added as an extra optional feature when purchasing the policy. There are other advantages that can be added, such as coverage for natural disasters, or replacement of the windshield in the event of a breakage due to the storm.
The procedures for submitting compensation include documenting the location and damage to the vehicle, and immediately informing the insurance company of the damage to the vehicle.
