MUSCAT: In response to the Royal Directives of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, Majlis Ash’shura will begin its third annual session (2021-2022) of the ninth term, on November 7.
This was stated by Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed al Nadabi, Secretary-General of Majlis Ash’shura.
Shaikh Al Nadabi said that Majlis Ash’shura will begin its third annual session on November 7 in accordance to Article (38) of the Council of Oman Law which states that the Council of Oman should convene its regular session for no less than eight months a year which begins during the month of November on an invitation from His Majesty the Sultan. The Secretary-General of Majlis Ash’shura added that the first regular meeting will see the reelection of six members to complement the council’s membership and the nomination of the chairmen and vice-chairmen of the standing committees as per the council’s regulations.
He said that the session will also look into the State Budget for the fiscal year 2022, which was transferred to the Majlis Ash’shura as is the norm. The Economic and Financial committee will study the budget draft in accordance in a fixed timeframe, he added.
