Muscat: For the first time in Oman, medicines have been delivered by drones to remote areas affected by tropical cyclone Shaheen.
“In cooperation between Wareed and UVL Robotics, with the support of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, the Civil Aviation Authority and the Royal Oman Police, for the first time in the history of the Sultanate, and in exceptional circumstances, medicines were delivered by using drones,” the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology said in a statement.
Salim bin Amer Al Balushi, a citizen from the Wilayat of Al Khaboura, thanked the authorities for this great service, and expressed sincere gratitude for the arrival of these medicines in light of the difficult circumstances and the exceptional climatic conditions experienced by the region.
