Ahad Al Khair convoy provides supplies to cyclone-hit wilayats

Muscat: Within the celebrations of the Omani Women’s Day, Ahad Foundation launched on Sunday, Ahad Al Khair convoy to a number of cyclone -hit wilayats.

The convoy is meant to provide supplies to Omani and resident women in the wilayats hit by the cyclone Shaheen. The convoy showcases the role Omani women play in the various sectors and their effective participation under difficult times and conditions.

The convoy kicked off from Muscat Governorate targeting five wilayats affected by Cyclone Shaheen in the governorates of North Al Batinah, South Al Batinah and Al Dhahirah. The convoy is accompanied by volunteers from the Omani Women’s Associations in the various governorates of the Sultanate and volunteers from among the female employees of the Royal Court Affairs.

Her Highness the Honourable Lady Assayida Ahd Abdullah Hamed Al Busaidi, Spouse of the Sultan of Oman, stressed her keenness  and attention for the participation of the members of the Omani Women Associations in the convoy mainly in distribution of supplies in the cyclone-hit areas.

The participants in the convoy expressed their pride in participating in the Ahad Al Khair Convoy along with their sincere thanks to the Honourable Lady. They also expressed their privilege and honour of being part of the convoy.

The participants also valued the kind gesture of the Honourable Lady for allocating the convoy to target women and children in the affected wilayats.
