Riyadh: The Sultanate of Oman and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) on Wednesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in telecommunication and information technology (IT). The MoU was signed by Said Hamoud Al Maawali, Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, and Abdullah Amer Al Swaha, KSA Minister of Communication and Information Technology.
The MoU stipulates cooperation in the fields of digital transformation, investment in digital economy, fostering talents and IT. It also covers the scope of cooperation in exchanging best practices and experts, as well as participating in meetings, joint work sessions and implementing joint programs and initiatives. The MoU will include a training program for 1,000 participants in the areas of cybersecurity, digital transformation, web development, python programming and the internet of things (IoT). Additionally, 25,000 participants will benefit from the webinar.
Another meeting the Sultanate of Oman and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) discussed regulation of air transport services. Naif Ali al Abri, Chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), and Abdulaziz Abdullah Al Duailej, President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) led the talks whichreviewed air traffic between the two countries, as well as investment and logistic opportunities in the civil aviation sector. — ONA
