Muscat: The UFI Global Association of the Exhibition Industry endorsed Oman’s hosting of the UFI Global Congress 2022, the world’s largest gathering of global exhibition industry.
Oman will be represented by the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre (OCEC) in hosting the event. The announcement was made in the conclusion of the UFI Global Congress held in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
This precedent reflects Oman’s preparedness in activating tourism activities after they were suspended due to the Covid-19 pandemic, as the Supreme Committee has recently launched a recovery plan to bring life back to normalcy.
Said Salim Al Shanfari, CEO of OCEC said that the Global Congress is a chance to promote OCEC’s facilities and foundations on a global arena. Choosing OCEC to host the next congress is a testimony to its international competitiveness in the global exhibition industry.
Al Shanfri added that succeeding to host the next Global Congress will set a precedent in the history of conventions and exhibitions in Oman.
The event will bring together more than 800 specialists in this field. Moreover, Al Shanfri said that he hopes the event will contribute in marketing Oman as an international destination for conventions tourism.
