Muscat: A Mwasalat bus inter-city bus caught fire in Sur on Friday around 7 pm.
The Omani National Transport Company (Mwasalat) issued a statement that confirmed all passengers were immediately evacuated from the bus, without any injuries.
“The specialized teams immediately went to the site to conduct preliminary investigations, in partnership with the competent authorities, upon receiving the news of the accident.
We pay utmost attention to health and safety procedures onboard its fleet and thanked the competent authorities that dealt with the accident with high professionalism that led to the control of the fire as soon as possible.”
The Civil Defense and Ambulance Authority said that the firefighters from South al Sharqiyah Governorate were able to control a fire that broke out in a bus in the Wilayat of Sur.
