Oman Desert Marathon set to begin

Muscat: The Oman Desert Marathon to celebrate the National Day will start tomorrow in Bidiyah.

“The organising committee of the Oman Desert Marathon announces the readiness of all the organisational and administrative details to receive the participants tomorrow morning, November 20, 2021, to participate in the various categories of the marathon,” a statement said.

The marathon will include four categories: “Marathon for 21 km, the rustic run for a distance of 10 km, family run for 5 km and children run for 2km.”

They said: “This short run is designed to encourage children to participate in running events and take up sports while they are young. Children are encouraged to come, have fun, and experience the festivities. The race is free, only registered participants will be allowed and only one parent or guardian can accompany the child during the run if needed.”
