Muscat: Eight foreigners were arrested and four artisanal fishing boats seized for fishing in a prohibited area in Dhofar Governorate.
“The fisheries control team in the Governorate of Dhofar seized four artisanal fishing boats, with eight foreign workers on board practising fishing in an unauthorised area for fishing in the Sea of Oman adjacent to Niyabat Hasik in the Wilayat of Sadah. Legal procedures are being completed against them,” the Ministry of Agricultural, Fisheries and Water Resources said in a statement.
