Bank Muscat, the leading financial services provider in the Sultanate of Oman, participated in the ‘Discover China Oman Delegation’ visit held from 12th to 16th October 2026 and that covered Beijing, Xiong’an and Shanghai. The Bank was represented by a number of senior officials, as part of its ongoing commitment to enhancing strategic partnerships and exploring new avenues for cooperation that support economic growth in the Sultanate.
Co-organized by Oman Investment Authority and the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) – Dubai Branch, the visit aimed to deepen economic cooperation between the Sultanate of Oman and China and to promote two-way investment and capital flows. The visit provided the Omani delegates with a valuable opportunity to engage in high-level meetings with senior officials from Chinese local government entities and with leaders of prominent Chinese corporates that have growing interest in the Omani market.
On this occasion, Ahmed Faqir Al Bulushi, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Banking at Bank Muscat, said: “We gladly take immense pride in embarking on this strategic step where the participation was not merely an exploratory visit but a strategic investment in the future of the Omani-Chinese partnership. This aligns directly with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040, which focuses on economic diversification and attracting quality foreign investments, and complements China’s Belt and Road Initiative, which positions the Sultanate in a strategically important location. Bank Muscat believes its role lies in creating opportunities that serve the national economy, and that this visit opens the door to a new phase of cooperation that will positively impact the attraction of quality investments, the localization of technology, and the support of promising sectors in the Sultanate.”
The delegation sought to explore promising investment opportunities across a range of vital sectors that underpin sustainable development, including energy infrastructure, technology manufacturing, financial services and emerging industries. This step reflects Bank Muscat’s strategic direction to play a role that goes beyond traditional banking services, to be an active partner in national development and a trusted financial bridge connecting the Sultanate’s ambitions with global economic opportunities. By facilitating the entry of Chinese companies into the local market and supporting the expansion of Omani companies into Asian markets, the Bank contributes to the development of the financial sector and reinforces Oman’s position as an attractive regional investment hub.
