Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik on Saturday received greetings on the occasion of the Armed Forces Day (December 11) from His Highness Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs, reading as follows:
“Your Majesty, Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, the Supreme Commander, peace be upon you.
Upon the advent of December 11 (the Armed Forces Day) we, as Omanis, commemorate this eternal anniversary in Oman’s history. It was the day when Your Majesty’s heroic Armed Forces gave the best examples of sacrifice so that the nation could press ahead with its ever renewed renaissance.
On this glorious occasion, I am honoured to convey the most heartfelt greetings of the Armed Forces and all personnel of the Ministry of Defence to Your Majesty, praying to the Almighty Allah to protect Your Majesty and endow you with continuous good health and happiness.

The loyal people, though proud of the civilization of their nation, have never constrained themselves to the past, but they kept creating milestones on the road to progress and prosperity. The values enshrined in this national anniversary will constitute a source of inspiration for the present and future generations. It will comprise strong impetus for every genuine action aimed at building a better future for Oman.
Your Majesty, While celebrating this glorious event, the Armed Forces express pride and deep gratitude for Your Majesty’s visit to one of its facilities and making it the venue of the 51st National Day. The Armed Forces cherish the achievements they made and the modernization introduced to all its land, air and navy units so that they could remain the strong bastion of the nation’s gains and its blessed renaissance.
