Muscat: Two persons, who returned to the Sultanate of Oman from another country, have tested positive for the Omicron variant of Covid-19.
A statement by the Ministry of Health said, “The Ministry announces the registration of the first two cases of the Omicron mutant variant in citizens who returned from travel.”
Their condition is stable and they are being subjected to further epidemiological investigations, the statement added.
The Ministry called upon everyone to fully abide by preventive measures, such as wearing a mask, maintaining social distancing, avoiding crowded places, and maintaining clean hands.
It also called upon all those who aged 18 years and older to take the initiative to receive the booster dose of the Covid-19 vaccine available in primary care institutions.
