New online investment licensing service launched in Oman

Muscat: A new service has been launched by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion (MoCIIP) for companies subject to the Foreign Capital Investment.

According to Oman News Agency (ONA) the MoCIIP launched the investment licensing service online via the ‘Invest Easy’ portal, which allows all companies subject to the Foreign Capital Investment Law to obtain licences for their projects through self-service or service centres.

Her Excellency Asila bint Salim Al Samsamiyah, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion for Investment Promotion, explains that the service aims to build a digital database of the type and volume of foreign investments in the Sultanate of Oman.

“During the next stage, the ministry seeks to prepare a comprehensive strategy that focuses on the economic dimension and frames future work according to a clear methodology by focusing on the sectors of commerce, industry and investment promotion in order to provide a stimulating environment for business,” Her Excellency added.
