55 paintings in ink illustrate  culture and heritage

The University of Technology and Applied Sciences Nizwa, represented by the Design Department, in cooperation with the Design Department at Al Zahra College for Girls, concluded an exhibition on identity entitled “Skills of Product Design Principles”.

The exhibition was opened under the auspices of Dr. Mohammad bin Juma al Kharusi, Dean of the College, in the presence of students and supervisors from Al Zahra College for Girls, in addition to a number of members of academic, support and administrative bodies, and a number of students from University of Technology and Applied Sciences Nizwa.

The exhibition included 55 paintings drawn using ink feature Omani culture, Omani dress, calligraphy and Omani khanjar.

The exhibition aims to exchange experiences between the two colleges and enhance the framework of cooperation between them.

Dr Fatima al Amiri, Head of the Nizwa Applied Design Department, said: “The establishment of this type of event and joint efforts strengthen the ties between higher education institutions and open areas for cooperation in the future at high levels that benefit students and the university.”

On the participation of Al Zahraa College for Girls, Sarah al Nasiri, a student, said: “The participating paintings are about transforming a graphic image into a painting.”

The Department of Design enhances its roles in the college by opening cooperation and holding dialogue sessions and exhibitions for students.
