Khushi powers Ruwi, Sachin lifts Darsait on rainy day

Muscat: Oman star Mohammed Naseem Khushi’s 13-ball 41 not out and pacer Kaleemullah’s superb 3 for 22 powered Ruwi Rangers to a 16-run victory against Amerat Royals decided by Duckworth/ Lewis system in a rain-hit D20 Cricket League game at Oman Cricket Turf 1 in Amerat on Friday.

The highlight of Ruwi’s 177 for 7 was Khushi’s incredible hitting at number seven, smashing 5 sixes and 2 fours to lift the team’s total.Khalid Kail and Gustav Burger were the other notable scorers, contributing 40 each.

Pick of Amerat bowlers
Bilal Khan was the pick of Amerat bowlers, taking 3 for 25 whereas Mehran Khan and Rafi Ullah bagged two wickets each. Amerat’s chase was hit by rain and the side was found to be 16 runs short of the required total in 7 overs when the game was stopped at 54 for 4. Kaleemullah’s three early blows kept Amerat in check, turning the game in Ruwi’s favour before it started pouring.

Ravinda helps Darsait to victory
In the day’s first D20 League game at the same venue, Sachin’s Kumar’s excellent all-round show and Ravinda K’ratne’s brilliant 61 not out off 38 helped Darsait Titans to a comfortable 6-wicket win over Ghubrah Giants.

Mohammed Imran Latif topscored with an unbeaten 53 off 36 as Ghubrah posted 130 for 5 on the board. Shehbaz Naser batted well too, scoring 39 off 31. Sachin was quite impressive with the ball, taking 3 for 16.
Darsait surpassed the total comfortably, scoring 133 for 4 in 14.2 overs thanks to top knocks by Ravinda and Sachin (26 off 20).
