Sharakah’s Istidama programme concludes

Sharakah (Fund for Development of Youth Projects) and HSBC Oman concluded their Istidama Programme for Small & Medium Enterprises (SMEs) development on Tuesday.

The closing ceremony was held under the auspices of Dr Saleh Said Masan, Under-Secretary, Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion. The ceremony was also attended by Melika Betley CEO of HSBC Oman, Hani Zubair, Chairman Sharakah, and other dignitaries and representatives from HSBC, Sharakah, Destination Sustainability and the beneficiaries of the programme The main objective of the Istidama programme is to equip SMEs with the knowledge, skills, and know-how they need, to improve their business practices and evaluate their performance and sustainability plans.

“Istidama”, a programme supported by HSBC and managed by Sharakah, is proving to be a valuable joint initiative for the overall improvement of SMEs in Oman. The successful completion of this second edition validates the program and encourages us to continue our collaboration in accordance with the Nation’s 2040 vision for SMEs. I wish the beneficiaries and the program the best of luck in the coming years,” commented Hani Zubair, Chairman Sharakah A total of 185 applications were received, and 10 SMEs from different sectors and governorates were selected for the Program after a comprehensive empirical evaluation of their business. The Programem’s focus is on Sustainability and Performance Evaluation and it is in line with United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which aim to promote more environmentally conscious and responsible business practices.
