Muscat: The Organising Committee of the Awj Sports Festival announced the postponement of the festival until further notice.
The committee said in an urgent statement: “For circumstances beyond the control of the organising committee, the tournament has been postponed until further notice, and you will be updated later. We thank everyone for their understanding and response.”
The Awj Festival is the largest sporting event in the Sultanate. It was supposed to be held at the Oman Convention Centre. The festival’s activities were supposed to be held in various locations across governorates, including the beach soccer tournament, volleyball, cruises, and other events and activities.
Yesterday, the first football stadium was inaugurated alongside the sea coast in the Sultanate of Oman in ‘Seeb Beach’ with stands for the fans as part of the preparations for the Awj Sports Festival.
