Damascus: President Dr Bashar Al Assad of the Syrian Arab Republic received Sayyid Badr Hamad al Busaidi, Foreign Minister who is on an official visit to Damascus.

During the meeting, Sayyid Badr conveyed greetings of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik along with his best wishes of good health and happiness to President Al Assad, and the friendly Syrian people progress. On his turn, the Syrian President asked Sayyid Badr to convey his sincere greetings and best wishes to His Majesty the Sultan, and the Omani people continuous prosperity and welfare.

The meeting reviewed the relations between the two countries. It also laid emphasis on the joint keenness to develop these relations and back the endeavours to restore regional security and stability.

The meeting was attended by Dr Faisal Mekdad, Syrian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Sayyid Turki Mahmoud al Busaidi, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to Syria and the delegation accompanying the Foreign Minister. –ONA
