Muscat: The Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre (OCEC) is all set to receive the book-lovers as the 26th Muscat International Book Fair 2022 is due to begin on Thursday.
Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham al Said, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth will officially inaugurate the fair in the presence of high-level ministerial and official representatives on February 23. The fair will end on March 5.
This year’s Book Fair, held under strict COVID-19 precautionary measures and with the Governorate of South A’Sharqiyah as the Guest of Honour, marks a strong comeback and will witness the attendance of known authors, media personnel, publishers and exhibitors.
The 10-day-long fair will play host to nearly 114 cultural activities, with 29 authentic events from South A’Sharqiyah Governorate. There will be 85 children’s activities aiming to inculcate the habit of reading in young minds.
