HH Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham al Said, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth, graced the closing ceremony of the 5th annual Al Bashayer Festival, today afternoon (Saturday) in Adam at Al Bashayer camel race track.
The event was held with the support of HH Sayyid Asaad bin Tarik al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for International Relations and Cooperation Affairs, Personal Representative of His Majesty the Sultan.
After five days of the competitions with different categories and ages today the festival reached the final stages which is the festival’s swords in fifth edition.
The conclusion half was special and unique, these halfs are considered the summary of the event, where the Omani and GCC participants are all looking to collect the prizes from HH Sayyid Theyazin.
On Saturday afternoon there are 4 halfs with heavy icons (cups and swords) where 100 camels are registered in 4 halfs for 8 km.
The first half is for (Thanaya) 5 years old for the puplic, the prizes are cup and Land Cruiser for the winner from 25 participants. The second half is for (Thanaya) 5 years old, for enterprise, the prizes are cup and Land Cruiser for the winner from 14. The third half is for ‘Alhool’ category (5 years old and above) for the public with prizes for the top one silver sword and Land Cruiser with 25 participants. The fourth half was for ‘Alhool’ for the enterprise with 27 participants to win the golden sword and Land Cruiser.
Also there are traditional half for 12 km by human rider which is above 18 years old. The Land Cruiser is awaiting the winner in this stong and long race.
