Muscat: A meeting was held here on Tuesday between officials from the Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) and the Italian University of Genoa (UniGe) to discuss areas of cooperation between the two universities.
The meeting proposed establishing cooperation in the field of sustainable tourism and developing projects listed within Oman Vision 2040 and the National Tourism Strategy (NTS).
The sustainable tourism projects cover five areas, namely culture, business administration, sustainability measurement criteria, cultural and environmental accountability and education.
The two sides also discussed means of cooperation in the field of smart energy grids, energy storage and electric vehicles (EVs).
This came when HH Sayyid Dr Fahad Al Julanda al Said, Vice Chancellor of SQU received here on Tuesday Prof Federico Delfino, Rector of UniGe.
