Muscat: There was an overall increase in electricity and water production in the Sultanate of Oman by the end of December 2021, according to numbers released on Tuesday.
Al Dakhiliyah Governorate recorded the highest growth in electricity production, while Dhofar witnessed a decrease in water and electricity production.
Oman News Agency (ONA), said: “The Sultanate of Oman’s total electricity production increased by 8.1 per cent to reach 414,096 gigawatt-hours by the end of December 2021, and water production increased by 2.1 per cent to reach 484,726,700 cubic metres.
Al Dakhiliyah Governorate recorded the highest growth rate in electricity production, while on the other hand, Dhofar recorded a decrease of 5.6 per cent.
Muscat Governorate’s water production rose during this period by 2.2 per cent, while production in the rest of the governorates increased by 3.8 per cent, except for the Governorate of Dhofar, which recorded a decrease of 3.5 per cent at the end of last December compared to the same period in 2020.
