No PCR test required for vaccinated travellers to Bangladesh

Muscat: Travellers who have completed a full dose of WHO approved vaccine can now enter Bangladesh with no requirements of RT PCR.

According to the circular issued by Biman Bangladesh Airlines, the national flag carrier of Bangladesh, fully vaccinated travellers can now enter the country with the official proof of certification of vaccination and without an RT-PCR test report.

“Travellers without having full dose (single/double dose as applicable for a full dose) of Covid-19 vaccine can enter Bangladesh if they possess RT PCR based Covid-19 negative certificate done within 72 hours of departure time,” the circular added.

Moreover, no RT PCR negative certificate is required for incoming passengers below the age of 12, as indicated by the national flag carrier of Bangladesh.

“However, they will have to observe the same health formalities that will apply to their family members upon arrival,” the statement read.

In the situation of Covid-19 symptoms being identified on arrival, the authority clearly stated that: “Irrespective of vaccinated or not vaccinated, if any Covid-19 symptoms are detected in a traveller on arrival, he/she shall be sent to Government Authorised Hospital/Facility for RT PCR test.

“If RT PCR test result is positive, he/she will be sent to isolation at a government nominated facility or hotel at their own expense. Further RT PCR test will be carried out after 7 days and he/she will be released when the test result is negative.”
