Muscat: The Council of Administrative Affairs for the Judiciary has issued a decision to form three evening labor courts in the Governorate of Muscat as part of initiatives to improve the labor judicial system.
The evening services will be set up in the primary courts of Muscat, Amerat, and Seeb.
The decision is based on the priority given to legislation and judiciary, in cooperation and partnership with the Ministry of Labor and the follow-up unit for the implementation of Vision 2040.
Applying the Simplification of Litigation Procedures Law, the goals of the decisions include supporting policies related to the work environment, increasing the rate of resolving labor disputes, shortening time and procedures involved to settle cases, reducing the litigants to courts, and improving the system of following up on labor disputes.
The methods include registering the dispute, investigating the complaints, studying settlement requests, in case of disagreements, the case will be referred to labor courts, in case of agreements, they will execute the settlement.
The Council of Administrative Affairs for the Judiciary, in cooperation with various stakeholders, especially the Ministry of Labor, has been working on a number of new initiatives, including mobile courts as per Vision 2040.
Dr. Yusuf bin Salem al Falaiti, head of the General Department for Planning at the Administrative Affairs Council of the Judiciary, had said last year that this initiative will enable and assist in resolving and expediting labor cases and disputes.
He added that the Judicial Affairs Council took the initiative to launch there will be evening courts to look into labor disputes.
Labor issues are two-fold issues, the first relating to the penal aspect and the second aspect relating to disputes.
He added that the law for some disputes is currently being simplified to reduce the time for procedures for hearing cases.
