Muscat: Pakistan awarded the Grand Mufti of the Sultanate of Oman a major civil award in recognition of his status, scientific contributions and intellectual efforts in unifying the Islamic nation.
The Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs said: “His Excellency Dr. Arif Alvi, President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan awarded His Eminence Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al Khalili, Grand Mufti of the Sultanate of Oman the Grand Civil Prize the “Star of Pakistan” (Sitara-e-Pakistan) in appreciation of his eminence, scientific contributions, intellectual and advocacy efforts in the unification and solidarity of the Islamic nation.”
The medal was received on behalf of His Eminence, Sheikh Mufti General of the Sultanate of Oman, by His Excellency Sheikh Ahmed bin Saud Al Siyabi, Secretary General of the Office of the General Mufti of the Sultanate of Oman, during a ceremony held at the Presidential Aiwan Palace in the Pakistan capital, Islamabad.
