Muscat: Eng. Ridha Juma Al Saleh, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) received on Sunday Dr. Bandula Gunawardena, Minister of Trade of Sri Lanka.

The two sides explored prospects for expanding cooperation between the private sector in the Sultanate of Oman and Sri Lanka. They also discussed establishing commercial and economic partnerships in various sectors, especially those targeted by Oman Vision 2040.

OCCI Chairman underscored the importance of enhancing interaction between business communities in the private sector in both countries.

This step would open up avenues for serious work and yield more efforts between the private sector in the two countries to hold bilateral meetings to conclude trade and investment partnerships and explore opportunities for joint cooperation.

The Minister of Trade of Sri Lanka valued the visit of the OCCI delegation to Sri Lanka, which contributes to strengthening bilateral relations, increasing the volume of trade exchange and benefiting from investment opportunities between the two countries.

He said Sri Lanka intends to send a business delegation to the Sultanate of Oman during the coming period.

He aspired for more direct coordination between the private sector in the two countries to explore investment opportunities in the sectors of food security, tourism, education, health and industry.
