MUSCAT: The Oman Cricket Academy (OCA) will organise the first tournament for Omani cricket teams, with the participation of seven teams.
Al Seeb, Al Amerat, Muscat, Al Hail First Team, Al Mabela, Ruwi and Al Hail Team B will take part in the tournament from April 4 to 13.
Only Omani cricket players will be allowed to take part.
The tournament matches will be held on the Oman Cricket Academy stadiums in the Wilayat of Al Amerat daily from 8 pm to 11 pm.
The participating teams will be divided into two groups, playing in a league system. Top team from each group play the final match to determine the champion and runners-up.
The losers play the match for the third and fourth places, while the other three teams play the matches to determine the places from the fifth to the seventh.
All participating teams aspire to compete for the title of this competition, as they are prepared by participating in the league and cup tournaments organised by the Oman Cricket Academy. The Omani Players Championship is the last tournament for the current season in the Oman Cricket programme for the 2021-22 sports season.
