Muscat: The Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs (MERA) urged the worshippers to abide by the decisions issued by the Supreme Committee on Covid-19 related to the precautionary measures against coronavirus during the holy month of Ramadhan.
It came after the ministry observed that some worshippers neglect safety measures in the Friday and Taraweeh congregational prayers.
In a statement, the ministry stressed the importance of commitment to the precautionary measures, calling on the people in charge of mosques to urge the worshippers to observe social distancing and wearing face masks while praying to ensure the safety of citizens and residents.
