MUSCAT: The Ramadhan sports events ‘Gazi 19’ concluded at the Sur Sport Complex on Wednesday.
The events were organised by Department of Culture, Sports and Youth in South Al Sharqiyah Governorate with the support of the Oman Liquefied Natural Gas Company.
Dr Yahya bin Badr bin Malik al Maawali, Governor of South Al Sharqiyah Governorate was the chief guest of the closing ceremony in presence of Dr Amer bin Nasser al Muta’ani, CEO of Oman LNG Development Foundation.
The futsal final was held between the Oman Charitable Organisation (OCO) and Oman Sail, and ended with the victory of the OCO team 7-6 on penalty kicks after a goalless draw in the original time.
The OCO team were crowned champions and Oman Sail team finished runners-up.
In the chess competition, Omar al Alawi claimed the top spot. India’s Krishna came in second place and Ahmed al Balushi finished third.
The beach volleyball competition ended with the victory of the General Directorate of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources team against the General Directorate of Housing and Urban Planning in the final.
