Muscat: Dr Mohammed Al Maamari is the newly appointed Minister of the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs (MERA).
Dr Al Maamari was previously the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs since August 12, 2020.
Al Maamari held the position of scientific advisor in the office of the Minister of Endowments and Religious Affairs, and was head of the “Omani Hajj Mission” in 2010. He holds a PhD in Islamic Studies from Germany.
