Muscat: In preparation for Eid Al Adha, Muscat Municipality, on Sunday, announced the pre-order system for individual consumers wishing to pre-reserve their sacrifices, to start from Dhul Hijjah 9 until the second day of Eid.
The competent authority has instructed the individuals wishing to get their carcasses to go directly to the slaughterhouse stockyard from 6 am to 6 pm.
“Slaughtering the pre-reserved private livestock, or for butcheries and companies, will be carried out in the evening period, without the presence of individuals”, the municipality highlighted.
As part of easing the process, local (Omani) sheep, goats, cows and camels of individuals will be received during the first two days of Eid in the evening period from 7 to 9pm, and to be picked up on the same day.
The municipality said that institutions, charities and meat companies wishing to slaughter in Muscat Municipality to book in advance with the operating company of the slaughterhouse until Dhul Hijjah 8, affirming that applications made after this date are not accepted.
“Seeb and Amerat slaughterhouses will resume on the fourth day of Eid in the morning period, as per the following timing: as for companies from 6 to 8 am, while for individuals from 8am to 12:45pm”, the municipality noted.
