Salalah: Dr Ahmed Mohsin al Ghassani, Chairman of Dhofar Municipality, held a meeting at Belad Bont Resort on Thursday with a media delegation comprising reporters from Arab and foreign news agencies.
The meeting took place within the context of a programme to showcase and promote the economic, investment and tourism projects in the Governorate of Dhofar.
At the outset of the meeting, Al Ghassani valued the leading role of the news agencies in highlighting Oman’s national comprehensive development efforts. He underscored the interactive nature of such efforts and the volume of accomplishments which, he said, have been made by engaging both citizens and residents.
He presented a visual display during which he spoke about the role of the municipality in achieving sustainable domestic development, providing key services and highlighting major projects (including parks) and laws to encourage entrepreneurship among the youth and realize economic diversification.
Speaking about Dhofar Khareef (monsoon) Season 2022, Al Ghassani gave a briefing to the reporters about this season’s tourism logo envisaged in a marketing campaign that focuses on providing an integrated experience to tourists and visitors, making use of all potentials of the Governorate’s wilayats.
The briefing touched on various landmarks and activities featuring in this year’s Khareef season, including the ‘Heritage Village’ in Al Haffa area, a consumer exhibition at Ittin Square, Oqad Public Park, Salalah Public Park and Al Saada Public Park.
