Muscat, July 30
The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology (MoTCIT) on Saturday formed an emergency technical team to repair roads damaged by heavy rains and flash floods in the Musandam Governorate.
The decision came after Sayyid Ibrahim bin Said al Busaidy, Governor of Musandam, visited the wilayats of the Musandam Governorate, accompanied by Dr Ali bin Amer al Shaithani, Under-Secretary of MoTCIT; Dr Said bin Humaid al Harthy, Wali of Khasab, and a number of specialists in the ministry and the governorate to review the condition of the roads affected by the recent rains and to review the restoration efforts of the municipality and community.
The governor and officials visited the damaged roads, listened to the citizens, reviewed measures to restore traffic and took stock of coordination among various government sectors, security and military agencies, private sector and charitable and voluntary teams.
They also visited the damaged roads and infrastructure in the Wilayat of Madha, Wilayat of Khasab and the Wilayat of Dibba.
The Royal Navy of Oman deployed its ships to transport equipment, materials and technicians to Lima in the Musandam Governorate to repair roads and restore essential services hit by heavy rains and severe floods. RNO has many advanced and fleet, which play an active role to maintain and protect strategic national interests, security and economy. These ships perform its tasks in various maritime conditions including bringing relief and search and rescue operations.
