Muscat – The Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion (MOCIIP) has issued the Omani specification standards for hydrogen-fueled vehicles, which specifies performance requirements related to safety, with the aim of providing safety requirements that reduce human harm in the event of accidents.
Nadia bint Mohammed Al-Siyabiya, Director of the Specifications Department, MOCIIP, said that the preparation of this standard is part of the government’s efforts to encourage and support sustainable clean energy.
The standards have been set based on the global regulation of hydrogen vehicles issued by the World Forum for Harmonization of Vehicle Regulations whose regulations are issued in joint coordination between the major industrialized countries.

MOCIIP said that the success of hydrogen vehicles in the Sultanate of Oman will lead to the reduction of pollution-related issues resulting from gasoline and diesel fuel.
