As a part of Physician awareness, Team of Aster Royal Hospital Oman and Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital conducted First of its kind Indo-Oman live endoscopy workshop streamed from outside Oman. Event was inaugurated by Mr. Bakul Mehta, managing director, Muscat pharmacy who opined that “These advanced gastroenterology procedures are needed for the citizens and residents of Oman and hope Aster Royal hospital would bring these cutting edge technological advancements once they commence their operations”
Session was initiated by Dr Amol Bapaye, a world renowned gastroenterologist known for his clinical excellence in advanced therapeutic endoscopic procedures. Who started with the advancement of gastroenterology procedures from 70’s till date which included POEM (Peroral endoscopic myotomy) , Large CBD stone – Spy Glass Cholangioscopy, Laser Lithotripsy, Malignant GOO – EUS guided Gastro-enterostomy, EUS guided Colorectal anastomosis etc. These complex procedures was demonstrated live to 80 doctors who were in the venue at Crowne plaza, Qurum and 50+ doctors who joined online from both government and private hospitals.
Dr Ashik Sainu Mohiyadeen, Sr Consultant Gastroenterologist and Dr Hisham Al Dhahab Moderated the sessions while Dr Issa Al Qarshoubi, Sr Consultant, SQUH, Dr Khalid Shumusi, Sr Consultant, SQUH, Dr Qassim Abbas, Sr Consultant, SQUH, Dr Raad El Mehdi, Sr Consultant Surgeon, OIH, Dr Sivaprasad Punnaveettil, Specialist Gastroenterologist, Aster Royal Hospital chaired the session. Apart from clinicians, Dr Ashendu Kumar Pandey, CEO Aster Hospitals Oman and Dr Shinoop Raj COO Aster Muscat and paramedic support from Aster Royal Hospital attended the event.
