Muscat: OQ Group launched a public awareness campaign at Wadi Arbout in the Wilayat of Salalah on the safety of gas pipelines.
The campaign highlights common risks associated with gas pipelines. It is aimed at ensuring the safety of the local population and tourists during the Khareef (monsoon) season in the Governorate of Dhofar.
The campaign’s launch ceremony was held under the auspices of Dr Ahmed Mohsen Al Ghassani, Head of Dhofar Municipality.
OQ conducts such campaigns as part of its responsibility to enhance public safety and health in populated areas and villages that fall within the Group’s geographic zone, which extends more than 4,000 kilometres in length.
OQ’s network supplies gas to power grids, factories and economic zones in the Sultanate of Oman. It also provides households with cooking gas.
