Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik has received a written message from Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, dealing with bilateral relations between Oman and Somalia.
The message was received on behalf of His Majesty the Sultan by His Highness Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs, when he welcomed here on Wednesday Abdul Rahman Abdul Shakour, Special Envoy of the Somali President for Humanitarian Affairs and Drought.
The envoy conveyed the greetings of the Somali President to His Majesty the Sultan and Omani people, along with the President’s wishes of further progress and prosperity for the Sultanate of Oman.
In his turn, HH Sayyid Shihab conveyed the greetings and wishes of His Majesty the Sultan to President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, as well as His Majesty’s wishes of progress and prosperity for the Somali people.
The meeting discussed fraternal ties between the two countries and ways of enhancing them in different fields. It also touched on issues of common concern.
The meeting was attended by the Chargé D’affaires of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Somalia in Muscat.
