MUSCAT: Qais bin Mohammed al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, has issued a Ministerial Decision No 494/2022 naming the head and members of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) Elections Committee.
Article (1) states the OCCI Elections Committee shall be headed by Dr Saleh bin Said bin Salim Masan, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion for Commerce and Industry.
Article (2) stipulates that the committee shall perform its specialisations stated in OCCI Election Committees Regulation. The panel’s specialisations include supervising elections, proposing elections’ sub-committees, determining voting and candidacy dates (and options to extend the same if deemed necessary) checking requests for candidacy, endorsing the final lists of voters and candidates approving related forms (for voting, objections, petition) and approving the final results of voting.
Article (3) says that this decision shall be enforced from the day following its date of publication in the Official Gazette. — ONA
