CAS Nizwa inducts students for the new academic year

NIZWA: University of Technology and Applied Sciences in Nizwa (CAS Nizwa) on Thursday wrapped up an induction programme for 326 new students for the academic year 2022-2023.

These students were admitted into three primary majors in mass communication, business administration, and design.

The induction programme, which began last week included foundation courses in English language, mathematics, and computer skills. Dr Said bin Hamad al Rubaie, President of the University of Technology and Applied Sciences, welcomed the new students and urged them to use their time to gain scientific skills and achieve excellence in studies. Dr Mohammad bin Juma al Kharusi, Dean of the College, then spoke about career prospects, ethics and ways to reach goals.

Salim al Azwani, Assistant Head of the Admission and Registration Center, gave an overview of the work carried out by the Admission and Registration Center and the academic system at the university.

Ahmed al Abri, from the General Requirements Department, spoke about mathematics and Computer. The programme included a lecture by Professor Dr Musallam al Wahaibi, from the General Requirements Department, on the values of a good student during university life.

A workshop entitled Bright of Information Security in association with Center for Education Technologies was presented by Maryam al Hinai and Sheikha al Hinai. The workshop was on the importance of information security and how to protect personal accounts, files, and maintain backup copies. It concluded on how to find reliable information from the university’s social networking sites.

The induction programme also included introductory sessions about the college’s programmes, departments, and academic disciplines. The students also listened to an explanation of the Department of Administrative and Financial Affairs, the Student Career and Training Center, the Student Services Center, and the Student Advisory Council.

These sessions included introducing the work and services provided to students and faculty members. The programme included several diverse and entertaining segments. Mohammad al Nasiri, an accounting major student, reviewed his university experience, and several graduates spoke about their personal experiences. Students presented several entertainment activities and competitions. The programme included tours of the Learning Resource Center, where they introduced various services to students and the community.
