Riyadh: Saudi Arabia announced the launch of the scientific program for Earth foresight that will contribute to facing environmental, water, and agricultural challenges caused by climate change.
It will pave the way for Saudi Arabia’s Environment, Water and Agriculture Ministry (MEWA) and the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) to lead climate efforts using artificial intelligence.
The program was launched by MEWA, SDAIA, the Google Cloud Platform launched the program for Cloud Computing, and the Climate Engine Foundation for climate research.
The launch was during the Global AI Summit, organized by SDAIA on September 13 – 15, SPA reported.
The program relies on ground data processing techniques and artificial intelligence to provide sustainable solutions to address the risks of climate change and enhance environmental protection at the level of Saudi Arabia and the region.
It focuses on five aspects to secure a more sustainable environment, including environmental preservation, pollution control, sustainable agriculture, climate and nature protection, and water and food security.
