SUHAR: Leading the generations of tomorrow, SOHAR Port and Freezone will sponsor 300 students and 20 employees at the upcoming Sohar Half Marathon, taking place on September 23. Organised by Excellence Performance, the Sohar Half Marathon aims to enrich the youth of the Al Batinah North Governorate and promote a healthy and active lifestyle. SOHAR will sponsor 50 students from Grade 7 and 8 to participate in the 3-km race, 150 students from Grade 9 and above to take part in the 10-km race, and 100 students from colleges and universities in the governorate to enter the Sohar Half Marathon event.
Mohsin al Jabri, Executive Manager – Corporate Affairs, said, “We are very proud to support the community and enriching the lives of youth in Oman. Being able to offer 300 students the chance to take part in the Sohar Half Marathon forms a key component in our ongoing student development, health and sports programmes for schools, and we hope that the event inspires runners of all ages to focus on their health and be more active.”
Throughout the year, SOHAR gives back to the community through various activities and initiatives that are in line with the company’s corporate social responsibility programme.
