New York – The Sultanate of Oman emphasized the centrality of the Palestinian issue during its participation in the meeting of ministers of Foreign Affairs of the GCC States, Egypt, Iraq, Yemen, Jordan United States of America, which was held in New York on the sidelines of meetings of the seventy-seventh session of the United Nations General Assembly.
Dr. Mohammed bin Awad al Hassan, Permanent Representative of the Sultanate of Oman to the United Nations and head of the Sultanate of Oman’s delegation to the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly, said that the establishment of a just and comprehensive peace in the Middle East requires the establishment of a Palestinian state on all its occupied territories since 1967.
Once again, the Sultanate of Oman supports the two-state solution.
US Secretary of State Tony Blinken affirmed that his country supports the two-state solution and will continue its efforts with the concerned parties to achieve this goal and achieve peace in the Middle East.
During the meeting, they discussed aspects of strengthening relations and joint cooperation in all fields, supporting international economic recovery efforts, efforts to achieve regional security and stability and supporting diplomatic efforts aimed at calming regional tensions.
