Muscat: The Ministry of Health on Thursday announced the cancelation of the medical examination fee charged to obtaining residency for expatriates at private health care institutions.
The new amendments stipulate that a request for visa medical examination of expatriates must be submitted through Sanad offices for a fee of RO30, after which the expatriate is directed to conduct the necessary medical examinations in authorized private centers without paying any fees.
The examinations will be accessed lifted approved by the Ministry of Health electronically and delivered to the expatriate within 24 hours.
Earlier, the expatriates were required to pay additional charges to the private health institution, in addition to fees to be paid at the Ministry of Health.
As part of the efforts to organize the expatriate medical examination service, simplify procedures and reduce costs; Dr. Hilal bin Ali bin Hilal al Sabti, Minister of Health, has directed to amend the procedures for expatriates requesting a new residence visa or renewing their residence visa in the Sultanate of Oman. which include canceling medical examination fees in private health institutions from November 1,” a statement from the MoH said.
