Muscat – The Ministry of Labor has issued the third quarterly statistics for this year with regard to the employment of citizens in the public and private sectors.
The total employment of citizens in the third quarter of this year has been 31,354, which is 90 percent (or 35,000) of the target for the recruitment of citizens or replacing expatriates with Omanis in both private and public sectors.
The percentage of employing citizens, including replacement in the government sector, is 96 percent, which meant that 9,657 jobs were created against the target of 10,000. In the private sector, the percentage of employing citizens is 84 percent as 13,544 Omanis were employed against the target of 16,000.
