Muscat: The total number of vehicles registered in the Sultanate of Oman reached 1,586,947 by the end of September 2022, according to the latest data issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI).

Vehicles with private registration constituted 79.5% of the total vehicles registered in Oman, to stand at 1,260,833, while the number of vehicles with commercial registration reached 236,867, constituting 14.9% of the total number of vehicles.

Meanwhile, taxi vehicles reached 28,186, comprising 1.8% and the number of rental vehicles stood at 26,932, comprising 1.7%. The number of government vehicles stood at 12,158 and motorbikes stood at 6,623.

The number of tutoring vehicles stood at 5,806 and the number of vehicles with temporary registration (temporary inspection, export and import) stood at 7,438.

Moreover, the number of farming tractors stood at 1,284 and vehicles with diplomatic entity registrations stood at 820.
