MUSCAT: OTE – Oman’s leading automotive group – celebrated the opening of its standalone Genesis showroom at its headquarters in Al Wattayah, Muscat on 8th November 2022, with a spectacular launch event that exemplified the iconic appeal and growing success of the Korean premium luxury brand.
His Highness Sayyid Harib bin Thuwaini Al Said, Assistant Secretary General of the Council of Ministers for Conferences, was the Chief Guest at the grand launch. Also present were a number of distinguished public and private sector guests, notably His Excellency Kim Chang-kyu, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the Sultanate of Oman. Representing the Genesis team were Mr. Mike Song, Global Chief Operating Officer – Genesis (HQ, Korea) and Mr. Omar Al Zubaidi, Head of Genesis (Middle East and Africa), among other company officials.

The facility, first of its kind in the country, spans an impressive 1,112 m2 and marks a new era for the luxury car brand in the Middle East. Located in Wattayah, the showroom comprises of two distinct experience sections for customers, with 731 m2 dedicated to a brand cube and brand wall, as well as a display space for new models, and a Genesis coffee bar. The remainder of the space, about 381 m2 located on the mezzanine floor, is dedicated to spacious open seating with additional area dedicated to new models.
The Genesis showroom is quite unlike conventional automotive display areas. It has been designed and fitted out in keeping with the distinctive design identity of the Genesis brand. The dominant colour is black, which represents the understated elegance and sophistication of Genesis. Shades of ebony, symbolising subtle refinement, help unite the elements of the brand’s design framework. Complementing the colour landscape is copper – the oldest metal in human history, synonymous with purity and impact. Its progressive energy signals Genesis’ pursuit of higher aspirations.
Strategically displayed around in the showroom – akin to exhibits in a studio or art gallery – are the latest offerings from the Genesis line-up. Taking centre-stage is the G90, the full-size luxury sedan that has only recently made its debut in the Middle East. This flagship model of the Genesis range embodies stress-free luxury at a competitive price. Also vying for attention are the GV70 luxury performance SUV, the G70 luxury sport sedan with its stunning G70 Shooting Brake variant, as well as the G80 sedan and GV80 SUV.
As a standalone showroom, the strikingly differentiated space is designed to resonate with Genesis customers who can experience the signature features of the cars close-up. Multiple customer lounges enable visitors to have private consultations with the experienced Genesis team on hand.
