Muscat: The Minister of Agricultural and Fisheries Wealth and Water Resources confirms the ministry’s endeavour to achieve self-sufficiency in food security in the Sultanate of Oman and to invest in this field with more than one billion OMR.
His Excellency Dr Saud bin Hamoud Al Habsi, Minister of Agricultural and Fisheries Wealth and Water Resources, said that the Ministry seeks to achieve good rates of self-sufficiency in food security in Oman for many basic commodities.
During the economic forum programme of Oman radio, His Excellency explained that there is a growth in agricultural production, livestock and fisheries during the year 2021 through a group of projects that have begun production, whether of red meat or poultry and others.
He added: The Food Security Laboratory has produced more than 100 projects with an investment volume of about OMR 1.3 billion in various sectors and projects.
