CC Energy Development (CCED) recently held its annual Contractors’ Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Forum. The event brought together CCED’s Contractors, Executive team members, HSE experts and other stakeholders to share insights on the latest HSE performance, best practices, and recommended standards for HSE. The participants discussed the challenges they face and identified opportunities for further improvement. During the forum, CCED launched its Safety Leadership Programme, which is expected to further engage team members and partners in promoting a safety and healthy workplace culture.
CCED’s uncompromising attitude towards safety and sustainability is based on four key values: trust, commitment, empowerment and zero tolerance for unsafe behaviour. Walter Simpson, Managing Director of CC Energy Development said, “We form a team of about 2,000 people and it is our fundamental responsibility to provide a working environment where health and safety risks are controlled. By engaging and working together as a team, we can successfully mitigate and minimise risks from work-related activities to as low as reasonably practicable, while also promoting a healthy life-style.”
He added, “In addition to safeguarding and promoting our culture of well-being at the workplace, it is also our collective duty to minimise the environmental impact on the areas where we operate and live. Hence, in order to maintain our safe and sustainable environment at work and beyond, it is good to get together and discuss with our partners and peers from the industry on what constitutes good practice and how to comply with it.”
Focusing on parallel themes of corporate culture and stringent processes, CCED empowers its team to champion safety in the workplace and adhere to its Life Saving Rules. When it comes to sustainable practices, the company continues to maximise the value of natural resources across its operations through the careful management of water and gas streams while it is also exploring how technology can further enhance the value of theses streams.
