تعجب عجباً عندما تضطرك الظروف للخروج مساءً في شوارع مسقط، فتجدها مزدحمة عن بكرة أبيها، وشوارعنا لا يزيد عمرها عن 47 عاماً، هذا إذا فترضنا.. أن الخمس السنوات الأولى من عمر النهضة، تم فيها إنشاء بعض الشوارع الرئيسية كشارع مسقط – الباطنة، وشارع مسقط – نزوى، وشارع سوق مطرح، روي، السيب، أما كل الشوارع الأخرى فقد بدء بها بعد ذلك، من خلال خطط خمسية متتالية، أما الشوارع الداخلية في القرم، والخوير، والغبرة جنوبها وشمالها، أتت بعد ذلك بوقت متأخر، وأحدث الشوارع هي شوارع الخوض، والسيب، والمعبيلة، والمالح، وبعض هذه الشوارع لم يكمل عشرين عاماً من عمرها الحديث.
لكن لا تستطيع تمر بهذه الشوارع في ساعات الذروة، وسكان مسقط مع الوافدين في حدود مليون ونصف المليون أو يزيد قليلاً، غير أن الزحمة المرورية الخانقة، والتي تضرب بأطنابها في كل إتجاه، تجعلك تحاذر من إستخدام هذه الشوارع في وقت الذروة، وتهرب منها إلى الشوارع البعيدة، وذلك إن أنت اضطرتك الحاجة إلى الخروج من منزلك، وإلا فلا تخرج من بيتك إلا الساعة الثانية عشر ليلاً، فهذا الوقت الذي تكون الزحمة فيه أقل حدة.
ترى إلى متى ستظل بلدية مسقط تعطي ظهرها إلى هذه المشاكل الحقيقية؟! والتي تضيّع أوقات الناس، ومصالحهم الملحة في زحمة المرور، فهل يعتقد مسؤولو البلدية إن مشاكل المرور سوف تحل من ذاتها؟ أم يسعون إلى تطبيق طريقة “جحا” في حل الأزمات، فتقول طريقة جحا؛ أن شخصياً ما شكى إليه ضيق غرفة النوم عليه هو وأولاده، فوصف له جحا طريقة لحل المشكلة فقال له؛ أأتي بخروف وأدخله معكم في الغرفة، ثم بقرة، وأتبعهم بكلب، وكلما يزيد عدد الحيوانات يقل له تعال أخبرني عن وضعكم في اليوم التالي، وفي اليوم الأخير جاءه الرجل فقال له؛ يا جحا أصبح الوضع لا يطاق، فقال له؛ الآن إبدأ في التخلص من الحيوانات واحد تلو الآخر، وفي اليوم الأخير جاءه فقال له؛ الآن أصبحنا في وضع أحسن، ونسي صاحب الضيق المشكلة الأساسية، وفرح بما أصبح عليه الحال.
لكن زحمة المرور؛ لن تحلها طريقة جحا، لأن السيارات في إزدياد مستمر والسائقين كذلك مع الزيادة المضطردة في عدد السكان، وتوسع التنمية وتطور البلاد في ترقي مستمر، وهناك من يدعو للاستثمار الأجنبي، وكذلك الدعوة إلى صناعة السياحة، وفي آخر المطاف، فلا المستثمر مستعد أن يأتي ليضيع وقته في زحمة المرور، ولا السياح يروق لهم تنغيص حياتهم في زحمة الشوارع، وقد يجد بعضهم حلا في الهروب من مسقط إلى الولايات الأخرى.
إنَّ الذي يواجه حل مشكلة الزحمة المرورية عوامل كثيرة، أولاً عدم ترك مساحات مناسبة لتوسعة الطرق، إلا إذا تم الإتجاه إلى الجسور المعلقة، أو الإنفاق الأرضية، أو تحديد نسبة السيارات في الشوارع، كما تفعل بعض الدول باعتماد الأرقام الزوجية والفردية، وهذا حل ليس مثالياً، ولا ننسى البطء الشديد في تنفيذ مشاريع الطرق، والمثال الحي في ذلك، جسور تلال الخوير التي نسينا تاريخ البدء فيها، ونتذكر فقط الزحمة اليومية.. شيخوخة شوارع مسقط أصبحت واقع معاش، ويشكو منه الجميع.

{أن السياقة : “فن، وذوق، وأخلاق” وأنت تعلم أن المركبة لا عقل لها ولا إرادة، بل عقلها بيد سائقها، وعليك أخي السائق؛ أن تتجنب أخطاء الآخرين، فخذ حاجتك من الطريق، وأتركه آمناً لغيرك كونه ملك الجميع}.
